LAST RIGHTS is the second chapter in Florida Studio Theatre's FOR THE AGES project, a series of documentary plays built out of interviews with real people in our community.  In 2015, OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER examined various aspects of aging.  One of the aspects that most resonated with both our interviewees and our audience was end of life.

Everyone dies, and the issues surrounding this incontrovertible fact range from moral, political, and cultural to legal, medical, and financial. What has come clear in the course of our interviewing is that most people aren’t necessarily afraid of death. Rather they are afraid of how they are going to die.  LAST RIGHTS explores the various rituals humanity has built around death, and dig in to the difficult questions surrounding end of life, such as DNR, death with dignity, assisted dying, hospice, and how we as a culture and a species define mercy, pain, and compassion.

  • Unit Set, Interior, Present Day.
  • There is also a touring version built for a cast of 2F/3M.

WINDSOR LIVE! re-imagines Shakespeare's hilarious farce as a contemporary reality TV competition in the mold of AMERICAN IDOL, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?, and PROJECT RUNWAY. All the classic characters are here:  the larger-than-life Falstaff, the beautiful and wily Anne Page, the dim-witted Slender, and of course the Merry Wives themselves. Instead of trying to outdo each other at singing, dancing, or designing clothes, the contestants in WINDSOR LIVE! compete to pull hte greatest prank. Employing love triangles, volcanic jealousies, and ridiculous disguises, WINDSOR LIVE! incorporates scenes from Shakespeare's play, packaging the main characters, central plot-lines, and celebrated language into an accessible, multi-media format. Who will be crowned the Next Great Prankster? Tune in to WINDSOR LIVE! to find out!
